Vodafone have recently upgraded their 3G network and they boast that their mobile broadband customers in some locations across the UK can now receive mobile broadband speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps.

Vodafone appear to be the pioneers of speed for their mobile broadband users although it is only London, Liverpool and Birmingham which can benefit from the new faster speeds. The rest of the country will follow as vodafone upgrade its network on a rolling programme.

Whilst in theory it is possible for Vodafone mobile broadband customers to receive the maximum rate of 14.4 Mbps they are much more likely to expect to achieve a maximum 10.8 Mbps. This however still makes Vodafone the fastest mobile broadband service provider by a long chalk.

"Customers trust us to deliver a mobile network that they can rely on - wherever they are and whether they are individuals, or a small, medium or large business," Jeni Mundy, Chief Tech Officer, Vodafone UK.
